Westfield Park Drive Culvert Replacement
V3 collaborated with the City of Westfield to replace deteriorated twin corrugated metal culverts on Westfield Park Drive, where the roadway edge was failing and eroding into the creek. The project involved hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to replace the culverts with a 20-foot precast conspan structure in the regulatory floodway, obtaining necessary permits through the Indiana DNR.
A natural resource assessment was conducted to identify jurisdictional waters, and V3 worked with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and USACE to incorporate their feedback into the final design and secure the required permits. Coordination with local and county agencies ensured the new culvert met all safety and long-term maintenance standards.
V3 also addressed multiple utilities at the existing crossing, working with various agencies to minimize impacts by adjusting the headwall design and structure footprint. This comprehensive approach ensured a durable and safe replacement for the deteriorated culverts.
