Greentown Substation Streambank Restoration & Wetland Enhancements
Pioneer Transmission, a joint venture between Duke Energy and American Electric Power (AEP), embarked on a significant project to enhance the nation’s infrastructure by constructing 290 miles of 765kV transmission line. This line connects Duke Energy’s Greentown Substation in Greentown, Indiana, to AEP’s Rockport Station near Evansville, Indiana, marking the first phase of a $1-billion initiative. V3 played a crucial role in assisting AEP with the permitting process to mitigate natural resource impacts during the Greentown Substation expansion. Our team designed the restoration of 1,960 linear feet of streambank and enhanced 1.5 acres of wetland within the Wildcat Creek watershed. We also provided comprehensive services, including construction drawings, bid review, and full-time construction observation, ensuring compliance with stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and serving as the owner’s representative. This project underscores our commitment to sustainable development and infrastructure reliability.
