Crown Plaza Redevelopment
In order to breathe new life into the One Wells Fargo building and attract businesses and employees, the owner hired our team to revitalize its outdoor plaza and reimagine a more welcoming guest experience. We got to work finding innovative ways to elevate the site’s presence beginning at the front door, weaving together existing elements with more engaging designs such as custom benches, planters, lighting and a new 40’ tree in the plaza’s center. All of this has been built on top of a parking deck just below the site, requiring coordination across our structural engineering team, the facilities manager, and the contracting team. Crown Plaza can now attract visitors, provide opportunities for large gatherings, and offer spaces for respite.
This project won a 2025 ACEC North Carolina Engineering Excellence Honors Award for Site Design.
