Tom Valaitis, P.E., has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations. Tom has 32 years of experience in the civil engineering and construction industry – a career that includes an impressive variety of roles in both the public and private sectors. Tom began his career at the Illinois Department of Transportation, and was steadily promoted until he became the Bureau Chief of Construction in District 1, overseeing a program with an annual budget exceeding $500M.
Since joining V3 in 2004, Tom has been responsible for leading the largest projects in the company’s history, including the Illinois Tollway’s I-355 South Extension ($730M) and I-90 Design Corridor Management ($1.6B). He most recently served as Director of Construction Engineering, V3’s largest practice area, growing the staff of professionals into one of the largest and most highly regarded in the State of Illinois. Tom also serves on V3’s Board of Directors. Tom’s promotion is a testament to the managerial acumen, vision and discipline he consistently exhibits as a leader in the firm.

A Professional Engineer registered in Illinois, Tom has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois-Chicago.
