This project spans six counties and directly impacts 32 villages, cities and towns. It will save drivers $440 million annually due to reduced congestion and delays and is expected to create or sustain as many as 11,500 additional permanent non-construction jobs in the Chicago region. Interchange improvements along the route provide greater access to communities and positively support and enhance regional and local economies.
The proposed reconstruction of a 25-mile segment of the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) was a formidable undertaking. The $1.6 billion project included eight lanes of mainline pavement, reconstruction and rehabilitation of ten interchanges, reconstruction of 35 mainline and 13 crossroad bridges, and various other improvements and is fully open to the public. V3 was brought on as the Design Corridor Manager, providing oversight and management of seven engineering consultants, 60 separate contract packages and coordination with numerous state and local entities. Responsibilities also included scheduling and monitoring the design process, verifying compliance with environmental permitting and local requirements, and monitoring project costs and budgets.
