V3 welcomes Zaida Morillo, P.E., S.E. as Vice President of Structural Engineering. In this role, Zaida will lead the Chicago Region’s Structural Group and will be responsible for helping the team to grow and expand upon its existing strengths and reputation. She will also leverage her 20+ years of expertise in the design of highway, movable, and railroad bridges to serve as V3’s firmwide technical leader for structural engineering projects.
Over the course of her career, she has worked on many projects with various transportation departments and authorities across multiple states, enhancing her industry expertise and cultivating a thorough understanding of state-specific standards nationwide. With enduring partnerships across a diverse range of public agency clients, she stands out as a respected industry leader in the field of structural engineering.
Zaida received her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Central Florida and her Master of Science in structural engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her passion for the industry is evidenced by her involvement in professional groups and organizations including serving as chair of the Structural Engineering Institute-Illinois Chapter, mentor for the Engineers Without Borders University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Student Chapter, and most recently as a member of the Structural Engineer Association of Illinois (SEAOI) Bridge Symposium committee.
