USAID Potable Water Delivery System Design for Developing Community
The small city of Canaan was established shortly after the devastating 2010 earthquake and is now home to more than 200,000 people, most of whom lacked basic access to water and sanitation. Our team evaluated and expanded upon the existing drinking water network, planning for a water distribution network that gave improved water access to more than 50,000 people. We also worked on a master plan for future expansions that will bring improved water access to an additional 150,000 people. Most importantly, our services included technical assistance to local agencies so that the system can be run and maintained by the community for the foreseeable future.
