Touch the Water – Clairmont Lake Urban Design
The County of Grande Point aimed to make Clairmont Lake the key feature of its new 20,000-resident community. While in a desirable location, the shallow lake was inundated by sediment and needed restoration in order to make it an accessible attraction for future residents. Our team led the planning engagement process and design, resulting in a revitalized lake with reduced sediment and rejuvenated fish population due to an aeration system that was incorporated into the overall trail system improvements around the lake. By creating recreational areas around the previously unwelcoming water conditions, our design met development needs while also improving the overall health of the lake.

Included in the design were two portable wharfs to accommodate non-motorized water vehicles, educational signage, public artwork, an off-leash dog park and community garden that was designed to integrate with the surrounding planned and existing communities.
